摘要:Neutrino oscillation phenomenon has established the neutrino mixing and non-zero neutrino mass. The Long Baseline Neutrino Experiment
(LBNE) is designed to answer the last few questions in the PMNS matrix:
Is the third mixing angle non-zero? How large is the CP violation phase?
Normal or Inverted mass hierarchy? The LBNE will utilize the Neutrino at the Main Injector (NuMI) beam from Fermi-Lab and a massive neutrino detector at the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory
(DUSEL) in the Homestake mine, South Dakota, USA (1300 km). In this talk, we describe the physics sensitivity, experiment status, and ongoing R&D programs of LBNE.
