In this talk I will discuss the behavior of the number
fluctuations in systems far from the thermodynamic limit. I will show
that, due to the finite size of the sample cell where fluctuations are
measured, the deviations with respect to the fluctuation-dissipation
theorem are very sensitive to the thermal and quantum correlations
present in the system. Results are given for the ideal Fermi gas and
for the 2D Bose gas where experiments have been recently carried out. |
