  简介:

报告摘要:Rapid technical advances in medical imaging, including its growing application in therapy and invasive/interventional procedures, have attracted significant interest in the close integration of research in the life sciences, medicine, physical sciences, and engineering. Medical imaging is moving increasingly from a primarily diagnostic modality towards a therapeutic and interventional aid, driven by the streamlining of diagnostic and therapeutic processes for human disease by means of multi-modality imaging and robotic-assisted surgery. Today, with the multi-modality imaging data, personalized surgical planning can be done to optimize the treatment output for each patient.

Many surgical procedures are now done with precise image guidance and 3D visualization tools to reduce error and increase accuracy of treatment. One interesting field of imaging technology is naked-eye stereoscopy, which displays 3D autostereoscopic images without the need for special eyeglasses or tracking devices. A novel medical autostereoscopic image named Integral Videography (IV) will be introduced. The development of relative image overlay techniques makes it appear that the 3-D image is inside the patient's body, and enables a medical augmented reality environment for minimally invasive surgery. Development of minimally invasive precision diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for future biomedicine based on bio-medical imaging, bio-robotics, precision and control engineering, as well as a fusional development of protein science, imaging modalities and nano-technological devices, will also be introduced in this lecture.
