报告摘要: Advances in synchrotron and laboratory-based radiation sources have led to X-ray based techniques, such as X-ray radiography and computed tomography (CT), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), becoming widely adopted in many areas of research spanning from advanced energy materials to biomedical sciences. These complementary techniques cover multiple time-scales and length-scales and provide multiple information of materials about the internal microstructures using CT, chemical compositions using XRF, electronic states using XAS, and crystalline states using XRD. Additionally, those capabilities can be used to study real objects under the in-situ or operando conditions. Over the past few decades, tremendous scientific advancements have been facilitated by the continuous improvement of the new laboratory X-ray source, incorporation of precision instruments, advances in X-ray focusing optics, and development of innovative experiment techniques. In this talk, I will present the progress we have made with developing the new lab X-ray source and X-ray optical systems, and discuss how these components enable unprecedented new laboratory capabilities. I will also review a suite of state-of-the-art synchrotron X-ray techniques and our currently commercialized synchrotron-like laboratory techniques, as well as discuss their applications in advanced energy materials and biomedical sciences. I hope this presentation will ignite enthusiasm and ideas for future collaborations. 报告人简介: Guibin Zan received the Ph.D. degree at NSRL, USTC, in 2019. From 2018 to 2019, he worked as a visiting student at Department of Biomedical Engineering, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, USA.
