Professor Etsion received his D.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering in 1974 from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Currently he is a chaired professor of Mechanical Engineering at Technion and head of the Shamban Tribology Laboratory. He is the author and co-author of 170 publications on various aspects of Tribology. He holds 15 patents and was the founder of Surface Technologies Ltd. an Israeli based company for LST. His research interests are in hydrodynamic lubrication, surface texturing, contact mechanics, nano-tribology and bio-tribology. Professor Etsion is a Fellow of the ASME and STLE. He is also the recipient of the STLE 2005 International Award.
