Yue Deng is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas USA. She received her BS and MS degrees at the Peking University in 1997 and 2001, respectively, and her PhD degree at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 2006. Her PhD thesis had won the Baldwin prize. She is the co-developer of the first global non-hydrostatic model in the upper atmosphere, Global Ionosphere Thermosphere Model (GITM). Her main research interest is the coupling between magnetosphere and ionosphere/thermosphere in the polar region. Dr. Deng was awarded the prestigious NSF CAREER award and several NSF fellowships.
