Abstract:
The Standard Model of the elementary particle physics has been remarkably successful in many ways, among which is its ability to interpret numerous hadrons observed in terms of symmetries built around the flavors, the spins, the colors and the hyperfine splitting. The combination of Quantum Thermodynamics (QCD) and high performance computing make it possible to carry out QCD lattice calculations of hadrons to take into account the fine details of the dynamics of the Standard Model. The B-factories such as PEP-II and KEK-B have provided high statistics data for studying hadrons, for searching for new hadron states, and have led to the discovery of the mysterious X, Y, Z states. The Large Hadron Collider is operational, has provided high quality data, and will allow for the study of hadrons, among many other exciting physics topics. High energy physics has entered an exciting era in which we will have state of the art detectors and colliders to enable us to look deep into the hadrons to understand the nature in a fundamental way.
