Geothermal application in the cooling engineering and desalination Dr. Wang Xiaolin School of Mechanical Engineering University of Western Australia Summary The lecture given by Dr. Wang Xiaolin includes: (i) Overview of geothermal energy application; (ii) Direct use of geothermal energy in School of Mechanical Engineering, UWA; (iii) geothermal adsorption air-conditioning system About the Speaker Dr. Wang Xiaolin received his PhD degree awarded by the Xi’An Jiaotong University, P. R. CHINA in April 1999. He is now lecturer in School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Western Australia from 2005 and Associate Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers UK from 2007. He won the Australia China Young Scientist Exchange Scheme (one of eight positions) by Australia Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology in 2009 and Ludwig Mond Prize 2005, Process Industries Division Prizes and Awards 2005, awarded by Institution of Mechanical Engineers (I MECH E) of United Kingdom. His research interests include issues related to fundamental and application researches of heat and mass transfer of adsorption chillers and adsorption desalination
