本课程是面向研究生和高年级本科生的高等流体力学课程。该课程依托能源与动力工程系流体工程讲席教授团组,邀请国际流体力学及工程界知名专家学者进行讲座,并与学生讨论,以提升学生的基础理论水平,了解国际流体力学领域前沿动态,及其在实际工程问题中的应用。

Howard A. Stone

Professor Howard A. Stone received the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Davis in 1982 and the PhD in Chemical Engineering from Caltech in 1988. Following a postdoctoral year in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge, in 1989 Howard joined the faculty of the (now) School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University, where he eventually became the Vicky Joseph Professor of Engineering and Applied Mathematics. In 1994 he received both the Joseph R. Levenson Memorial Award and the Phi Beta Kappa teaching Prize, which are the only two teaching awards given to faculty in Harvard College. In 2000 he was named a Harvard College Professor for his contributions to undergraduate education. In July 2009 Howard moved to Princeton University where he is Donald R. Dixon ’69 and Elizabeth W. Dixon Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
Professor Stone's research interests are in fluid dynamics, especially as they arise in research and applications at the interface of engineering, chemistry, physics, and biology. In particular, he and his group developed original research directions in microfluidics including studies and applications involving bubbles and droplets, red blood cells, bacteria, chemical kinetics, etc. He received the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award, is a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), and is past Chair of the Division of Fluid Dynamics of the APS. For ten years he served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Fluid Mechanics, and is currently on the editorial or advisory boards of New Journal of Physics, Physics of Fluids (until 31 December 2015), Langmuir, (until 31 December 2015), Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, Soft Matter, and is co-editor the (new) Soft Matter Book Series. He is the first recipient of the G.K. Batchelor Prize in Fluid Dynamics, which was awarded in August 2008. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2009, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2011 and the National Academy of Sciences in 2014.

Detlef Lohse

Eric Climent

Eric Climent received his PhD in fluids mechanics in 1996. He was lecturer at the University of Strasbourg (1997–2001). He then moved to Brown University (U.S.A.) as a visiting professor in applied mathematics. He returned to Toulouse in 2003 to work in the chemical engineering laboratory. Since 2008, he has been a member of the Fluids Mechanics Institute, developing his expertise on the modelling and simulation of disperse two-phase flows (suspension flow, solid/liquid separation, bubbles, and drops in turbulent flows). He is currently deputy Director of IMFT and head of the international Master program on fluids engineering for industrial processes.

Dominique Legendre is a professor in INPT (Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse), France. He received his PhD in fluids mechanics in 1996. Since 1998, he has been a member of the Fluids Mechanics Institute. He has been a professor at INP Toulouse since 2007, and he was the head of the Research Group “Interface” at IMFT from 2008 to 2012. He is the head of the INPT Fluid Mechanics Master od Science DET, the INPT Vice-President “Digital services and Information Technology”, and INPT Member of the Directorial Board (Conseil d’Administration). His teaching topics include Multiphase phases flows, Fluid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics. His research interests include Bubble, drop and particles dynamics, Two phases flows, Fluid Mechanics, Wetting, Interface dynamics. Numerical simulation (DNS-LES-VOF).

Claus-Dieter Ohl

Claus-Dieter Ohl (PhD Physics, U Göttingen, 1998) works experimentally on fundamental and applied fluid mechanics. He is interested in fast multiphase flows such as laser induced cavitation, sonoluminescence, shock waves in liquids and their medical applications, droplet fragmentation and recently a novel boiling regime. After a two postdoc positions at Johns Hopkins (Prof Prosperetti) and U Twente (Prof Lohse) he received the Dutch VIDI fellowship 2005 to focus on application of cavitation for drug delivery. In 2007 he joined Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and was tenured in 2012. During the 10 years at NTU his lab made important contributions to cavitation in microfluidics and soft materials, time-reversal acoustics, focused photoacoustics, and nanofluidics. Just a few month ago he was appointed as full Professor at the University of Magdeburg in Germany and is now setting up their Soft Matter department. In his spare time he explores how to make use of virtual reality for education.
