Numerical techniques and capabilities have greatly advanced over the past 40 years. However, the quasi three-dimensional flow theory proposed by Professor Wu still plays an important role in gas turbine aero-thermo design. The progress of MHI's gas turbine aero-thermo design and the role of quasi three dimensional flow calculation will be described.
