报告摘要:  Channel state information has been very important for wireless communications for adaptation. Adaptation at the transmitter is very critical to exploit the time-varying nature of the fading channels. For example, under

perfect channel state knowledge, the wireless system can achieve ergodic capacity in slow fading channels through rate and power adaptation. In practice, the CSI knowledge at the transmitter (CSIT) is achieved either through explicit feedback (FDD systems) or through implicit feedback (TDD systems). In both cases,  the knowledge of CSI at the transmitter can never be perfect, especially when the number of antennas, number of subcarriers as well as number of users are large. In this talk, we shall investigate how we can exploit imperfect knowledge of CSIT in wireless communications. We shall first talk about the diversity - multiplexing tradeoff in point to point MIMO link with imperfect CSIT. Afterwards, we shall discuss how the cross layer can exploit the imperfect CSIT knowledge as well in slow fading channels with heterogeneous delay constraints.
