中国电厂排放空气污染物的分析:
人群暴露及经济损失的估算
报告人简介: Dr. Zhou obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Tsinghua University with dual major in Environmental Science and Engineering and Computer Science in 1997. She obtained her Doctor of Science degree from Harvard University, School of Public Health (HSPH) in 2002. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at HSPH conducting projects to study the dispersion of air pollution in built-up urban downtown areas. The projects include analyzing field observations from urban meteorological and tracer dispersion experiments in New York City and Oklahoma City to evaluate fundamental science models; and estimating personal exposure from traffic air pollution using air dispersion model applicable in street canyon settings.
报告摘要: The first part of the talk discusses two studies which quantified human exposure to airborne fine particulate matter resulting from coal-fired power plants in a developing country through a combination of mesoscale meteorology model MM5, long-range atmospheric fate and transport model CALPUFF, geographical information system ArcGIS, as well as predictive statistical models. The second part of the talk discusses a study which applied survey based methods to estimate the monetary value Chinese citizens assign to reducing risks of adverse health effects, including fatality, chronic bronchitis, and minor respiratory illness. Surveys were conducted in Beijing, Anqing City, and rural areas. Tested different statistical models to study their impact on estimated willingness to pay (WTP) as well as the relationship between WTP and individual characteristics.
