袁鹤翔， 台湾东吴大学英国文学学士、美国加州 Occidental College 比较文学硕士、博士。曾任教于明尼达州及威士康辛大学英文系，后任台湾大学、政治大学、中正大学客座教授、中正大学外文研究所创所所长及文学语言研究中心主任、文学院院长、香港中文大学英文系教授、系主任、中国文化研究所比较文学组组长、亚洲研习部学术部副主任、香港比较文学会创始会长、会长等职。2000年荣获台湾东吴大学杰出校友奖。现任台湾东吴大学人文社会科学谢东闵讲座教授
     主要学术论著有：The Force of Vision: Inter-Asian Comparative Literature (co-author),《中西比较文学言论集》（合?）, China and the West: Comparative Literature Studies（co-author）; 发表论文 “Through a Looking Glass: Change and Continuity of English Studies in a Modern Scene” , “Genre and Canon: An Inquiry into the Comparative Study of Chinese and Western Literature”, “From Cultural Relativism to Cultural Respect” 等若干篇。
