简介: |
Materials science has emerged as one of the central pillars of the modern physical sciences and engineering. A central tenet of it is that many properties of a material are dominated by microstructures of the material. Therefore it is extremely important to study the formation and evolution of microstructure. Some microstructure is formed by phase transitions. We are interested in phase transitions driven by configurational forces, in elastically deformable solids (e.g. Steel, Shape memory alloy). To model this kind of phase transitions, a phase-field approach is used. We also discuss mathematical results of the new models. 报告人简介: Present position: Senior Ikerbasque Researcher Professor at Department of Mathematics, University of the Basque Country, Spain and IKERBASQUE, Basque Foundation for Science Bilbao, Spain Education: Ph D, Kyushu Univ., Japan 2001; Ph D, Fudan Univ., China 1997 Awards: Chinese Postdoc. The main equation in our models differs from the famous Cahn-Allen/Cahn-Hilliard equation by only a non-smooth gradient term. However they describe completely different processes of the material world, correspondingly their mathematical properties are also very different. B) Optimal control problems for systems of PDEs or scalar PDE. C) (Multiscale) modeling in materials science, at macro- (atomic-) scale (the models mentioned in the first item are at meso-scale); Modeling for propagation of crack in solids, and for evolving of dislocation, based on a key idea for the models mentioned in the first item. |
