Thomas O. Beebee is Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of Comparative Literature & German in Penn State University. He earned his degrees in Dartmouth College and University of Michigan Field in Comparative Literature. He is now Editor-in-Chief of the distinguished journal Comparative Literature Studies (2001- ) and on the board of Terra Roxa and Signos. His major works include Clarissa on the Continent: Translation and Seduction (1990), The Ideology of Genre: A Comparative Study of Generic Instability (1994), Epistolary Fiction in Europe (1999), Millennial Literatures of the Americas, 1492-2002 (2008), Nation and Region in Modern European and American Fiction (2008), Citation and Precedent: Structural Couplings of German Law and Literature (2011), and Transmesis: Inside Translation's Black Box (2012). |
