摘要：

Outcomes of university research are far reaching beyond academic interest. Basic and applied research in university has resulted into industrial growth. Acedemia- industry is a beautiful symbiotic relationship which has achieved brilliant success when nurtured properly with support of government and professional organizations.  Present talk describes such a relationship nurtured over time span of many years. Several case studies including annular centrifugal extractors, self inducing reactors and fluidized beds and latest technologies for the manufacture of chemicals (hydrogen peroxide, terpthalic acid and sodium nitrite) have been discussed in great detail. This university-industry partnership is a win-win situation for a country and materializes wealth generation for all the partners.

Prof. Joshi is a full Professor in Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai India. He is member of Editorial Board of Reviews in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Engineering Research and Design. Prof. Joshi is an expert on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Transport Phenomenon and Non-Linear Dynamics in Multiphase Systems, Energy, Biological Wastewater Treatment, Petroleum Residue Upgradation,etc. He has published 400 journal articles and book chapters. He has won numerous awards. In 2007, he was selected by American Chemical Society (ACS) among the top 100 Research Scientists over a period of 40 years of Existance of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Research on the basis of high impact publications. In 2008, he was selected as Fellow of Third World Academy of Sciences, Triesty (Italy).
