Biography:
Pedro Reviriego holds a MsC and a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering both from the Technical University of Madrid. He has worked in the industry designing routers (at Teldat) and also Ethernet integrated circuits (at LSI). In 2007 he joined Nebrija University as an Associate Professor to work on fault tolerant circuits and on communications networks. His main active research topics are fault tolerant signal processing, error correction codes for memories and circuits, energy efficient communication networks and fault tolerant computer architectures. He is the recipient of two Google research awards and has numerous publications on IEEE journals.
Abstract:
In this talk we will first discuss the soft error issues and challenges for memories and the reliability estimation for different scenarios. Then in a second part recent advances on Error Correction Codes for memories and circuits will be discussed. The focus will be on codes that can be efficiently implemented and can correct multiple cell upsets. |
