The University of California, Berkeley is a world leader in many fields. One of them is transportation. We provide a brief history of transport research and teaching at UC Berkeley, overview our transport-related curricula, and introduce the transport-related research units. We then present several of the ongoing research projects in areas including intelligent transport, behavioral modeling, air traffic management, infrastructure management, and big data analytics. We hope that our discussion conveys what it is like to study and conduct research in transport at the world’s greatest public university (aside from Tsinghua).
