讲座简介:
In support of the development of the Third National Climate Assessment (NCA3) report, extensive analyses of historical trends and future projections, including dynamical and statistical downscaling data, were undertaken. Key impacts-relevant findings are summarized in a series of nine NOAA technical reports. In this course Dr. Sun will introduce the trends of extreme climate events, such as heat, cold waves and heavy precipitation in most of the United States. He will present the projections of 21st century climate, the projections of annual average precipitation, the simulations of extreme rainfall and the length of dry spells under various emissions scenarios. Confidence of the future climate changes and actionable information will also be discussed.
