The discovery of a Higgs boson is a milestone in our understanding of Nature, which marks a triumph of a collaborative effort of both the particle theorists and experimentalists in the past few decades. The observation of a light Higgs strongly motivates new physics beyond the Standard model of particle physics.   In this talk, I will explore what's the next step in particle physics after the Higgs discovery, both in the theory front and in the experimental searches.   We are in the beginning of a new era, with extremely rich data set and great discovery potential for new physics beyond the Standard Model. 

个人简介:Shufang Su is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Arizona. She received her Bachelor's degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 1995, and her Ph.D from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000. She was the John A. McCone Postdoc Fellow at California Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2003, and joined the faculty of the University of Arizona in 2003. She was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2009.  In 2014,she was elected APS fellow for her fundamental contributions to the phenomenology of Higgs Bosons, dark matter, supersymmetry and other physics beyond the Standard Model, which have stimulated and guided experimental search programs. 

Professor Su's primary research interests are in theoretical particle physics, focusing on important connections between theory and experiment as well as links between particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology. In particular, she works on new ideas for physics beyond the Standard Model, Higgs physics, collider phenomenology, precision tests through low-energy measurements, and dark matter.
