简介: |
Concrete filled steel columns have seen an increased use in the construction of steel framed buildings worldwide. These columns provide significant benefits to the construction process which render them economical and also promulgate the use of steel and composite-steel concrete floor construction. This lecture will provide an in-depth summary of research on the behaviour and design of concrete filled steel columns and joints incorporating these columns. Much of this research has been carried out at the University of Wollongong, the University of New South Wales and University of Western Sydney over the last decade and has more recently been applied to the design and construction of buildings in Australia. Currently, the Australian Standards Committee BD32 is developing design standards to allow for the use of these systems in buildings. |
