CURRICULUM VITAE

Mingfang Lu mainly researches on Fusion Plasma Physics, especially the Plasma Focus. He got his PhD degree from the Gas Discharge and Plasma Lab of the Department of Electrical Engineering in Tsinghua University in 1995. Then he did two-year post-doc research on Plasma Materials Sciences in the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1995 to 1997, and as Post-doc Fellow in the Plasma Lab of the Department of Particle Physics of the Weizmann Institute of Sciences, Israel (1999-2000.4), and as Post-doc Fellow in the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF), Kiruna working on the neutral atom detection project of the ESA’s (European Space Agency) Mars Express Mission (2000.4-2001.12). The spacecraft has been working successfully in the Mars orbit for three years since launched in June 2003. Also working as visiting professor in Nihon University Japan on plasma focus neutron emission researches.

Since 2002.1, he joins the UK Institute of Physics Publishing (IOPP) working in its Beijing Office as Chief Representative/Editorial Director.
