  简介:

Abstract: I present the essential ideas for constructing fully discrete schemes of arbitrary order of accuracy in space and time for solving hyperbolic equations. I outline various ways of solving the associated generalized Riemann problem and illustrate the performance of the method though some practical applications including compressible multiphase flows.

MAIN AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST

Ø        Numerical methods for partial differential equations, with particular emphasis on methods for hyperbolic equations.Design and application of new algorithms.

Ø        Hyperbolic partial differential equations as mathematical models of various types of processes.

Ø        Mathematical modelling and simulation of physico/chemical processes that include wave propagation phenomena. Modelling of multiphase flows.

Ø        Application of models and methods to real problems. Examples include: propulsion in the aerospace industry, nuclear reactor safety, acidental collapse of dams, seismic waves, generation and propagation of tsunamis, application of shock waves to medicine and to industrial problems.

PUBLICATIONS

Author of two books; editor of two books of contributed research

papers and author/co-author of more than 220 publications.
