报告摘要: Arrays of metallic microstructures are important for optoelectronic applications. I will show a unique method to fabricate periodic metallic nanostructures based on electrochemical deposition. Unlike conventional method, the branching rate of the metal deposits has been significantly decreased, and regular queues of ditches and ridges are generated on the filaments, with the periodicity varying from a few tens of nanometers to hundreds of nanometer. Our experiments also show that the morphological periodic structures on the metallic filaments correspond to the alternating deposition of nanocrystallites of metal and metal oxide. The mechanism for the spontaneous formation of the periodic nanostructures and their physical properties are discussed.
