Known internationally as a major U.S. public university with global reach, Michigan State University has been advancing knowledge and transforming lives through innovative teaching, research, and outreach since 1855.
The recent surge of interest in energy-related research has promoted an expansion in both Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering graduate programs at Michigan State University. Both programs are expected to add at least 20 Ph.D. level new graduate students with full financial support annually in the next five years. Research interests of faculty ranged from the traditional large-scale separation and transport of chemicals, microstructure-property relationships in various materials to energy-related area in biofuels, green chemicals and chemistry, energy generation and storage materials, electronic devices and fabrication. Graduate students are expect to contribute in all aspects of research from concept development to conducting research, written and oral communication of research findings, etc. Programs are seeking students who are highly self-motivated, goal-oriented and with excellent communication skills. |
