The discovery of a Higgs boson at the LHC leaves open many physics issues that require new physics beyond the Standard Model. Prominent among these is the nature of dark matter. Many models suggest that it may be composed of weakly-interacting particles weighing up to about a TeV, one example being supersymmetry. Run 1 of the LHC has already imposed significant constraints on such models, which will be compared with the constraints from direct searches for dark matter scattering. Finally, the prospects for discovering supersymmetry in future runs of the LHC or at a future collider will be examined. |
