简介: |
Pattern recognition methods for the condition monitoring of rotating machinery are well established and can successfully detect and classify many types of faults. However some faults are difficult to distinguish and locating faults requires a spatial model of the machine. To be useful, these models must be an accurate representation of the machine. Of course, as with any model, the required accuracy depends on the use to which the model is put. This paper considers models of various faults and machines, highlights the use of estimation methods, and discusses the required model fidelity. Examples of faults such as cracks, unbalance, bends and misalignment are given. 报告人简介:Prof. Michael I. Friswell has a BA in Mathematics and a PhD degree in vibration engineering. He was appointed a lecturer at Aston University in 1987. moved to the University of Wales Swansea in 1993 and in 1996 was awarded an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship for five years. Prof. Friswell was awarded the DSc degree by the University of Wales in 2000 and was promoted to a personal chair in the same year. He joined the University of Bristol as the Sir George White Professor of Aerospace Engineering in 2002. Between 2002 and 2007 Prof. Friswell was a Royal Society-Wolfson Research Merit Award holder. Prof. Friswell has a wide range of research interests including model updating in structural dynamics, health monitoring, damping, uncertainty, acoustic emission, morphing aircraft and rotating machinery.
